Conversations Between Gandhi and Hitler

Believe it or not, but Gandhi wrote letters to Hitler. He did not agree with what Hitler was doing clearly but still addressed Hitler as "my friend" and finished with "your sincere friend." I find these letters important because Hitler and Gandhi completely contradicted each other. Gandhi wanted peace and non violence. He led a whole movement to get India Independence. Many went to jail for following his rebellions but in the end India benefitted from Gandhi's wisdom and confidence. Hitler is always finding someone else to take out. There are even records of Hitler contacting India's leaders during the time saying that Gandhi needed to be killed. Hitler did the opposite of Gandhi. While Gandhi inspired people Hitler was destroying people.

Political Cartoon

Japanese soldier cutting off the legs of Winston Churchill and Franklin D. Roosevelt. This is propaganda released just before Pearl Harbor occurred. The significance of cutting off the legs of the octopus is that Asia is cutting off the hold that western culture has always had on them. WWII was a perfect opportunity for Japan to attack because Britain (Winston Churchill) and the U.S. (Franklin D. Roosevelt) were so caught up in what was going on in Europe that they didn't have their eyes on Japan. This is what gave Isoroku Yamamoto and Hideki Tojo the opportunity to target Pearl Harbor.

***FUN FACT: Hideki Tojo ordered a pair of denchers from an American leader. On the dentures the phrase "Remember Pearl Harbor" was drilled into them.

What Power Can Do

This is a video just taking all the most brutal moments of Nazi Germany. This video does not need words because the scene says it all. The man they focus on is Heinrich Himmler. He was a Nazi General who was one of Hitler's write hand men. He ordered the death of: Jews, Roma, prisoners of war, communists, anyone whom the Nazis deemed unworthy to live, homosexuals, people with physical and mental disorders, Jehovahs Witness, and members of the Confessing Church. He was a selfish coward. It's hard to understand how people are okay with having that many deaths on their conscience. He was most directly responsible for the Holocaust. People like Himmler and Hitler had complete control because no one had a choice. If you didn't do what you were told you would be killed. Their system was completely different than Churchill's and Roosevelt's. It was based off of fear and none of the people had a say in what was going on.

Winston Churchill Speech

We shall go on to the end.  We shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be.  We shall fight on beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender.
Winston Churchill was a courageous man full of optimism and confidence. His strong personality was beneficial for britain. While many other leaders (like Stalin, Mussolini, and Hitler) were making chaos in their countries, leaders like Churchill and Roosevelt were ruling more reasonably. Churchill gave Britain hope and strength. Their way of ruling gave their people freedom and an ability to have a say. British people were comfortable and content because of the positive leadership.

EXTRA! Fairbanks Daily News "Second World War Breaks"

This Newspaper Article was released just after Hitler's army invaded Poland. This Newspaper Was released in Alaska announcing the beginning of World War II. It is a different perspective looking at a Newspaper before the most chaos had occurred. These people had no idea what they were in for yet.
